Lorient and ASSA ABLOY Celebrate a Standout Fire Safety Event 2026

Lorient is proud to reflect on an outstanding second year at The Fire Safety Event 2026 (FSE), held at the NEC Birmingham. Exhibiting alongside ASSA ABLOY on Stand 4G50, the event marked our most successful appearance to date, combining strong visitor engagement, expert-led education and a shared mission: to highlight the critical role that door hardware and intumescent sealing systems play in protecting lives and property.

New Look, New Branding, Same Commitment to Safer Buildings

FSE 2026 also marked the first time we exhibited using ASSA ABLOY’s new global branding. The refreshed look and feel created a modern, cohesive and confident presence on the show floor, reinforcing the our Group’s commitment to innovation and quality.

Education at the Forefront: CPDs and Industry Leadership

Knowledge-sharing was a major focus throughout the event, with two CPD sessions and an industry panel discussion demonstrating the depth of expertise across Lorient and ASSA ABLOY.

On day one, Sarah Lewis, Specification Manager at Lorient, delivered a compelling CPD session to a packed audience of 157 attendees, focusing on the critical role of fire doors and intumescent seals in protecting lives and property. With clarity and passion, Sarah reinforced why attention to detail is essential for compliance, performance and, ultimately, safety.

Later in the event, Paul Thompson, BIM Manager at ASSA ABLOY, presented a fantastic seminar titled: “The Golden Thread in Practice: From Design to Building Safety”.  Exploring how digital tools and accurate information management can support safer buildings throughout their entire lifecycle.

We were proud to see Peter Ashworth (ASSA ABLOY) and  Sarah Lewis (Lorient) join the panel at the Fire Safety Leaders Summit, discussing BS 8214:2026 and its Critical Impacts for Fire Doors, alongside Terry James (Strongdor Ltd) and Rob Pace (SFD Group Ltd). It was a really well-attended session that brought together perspectives from across the industry to examine what the upcoming standard changes will mean in practice.

A Truly Successful Event

Across three days, decades of combined expertise came together from the ASSA ABLOY and Lorient teams, to demonstrate how complete fire door systems safeguard life, protect property and support long-term compliance. The level of engagement and overwhelmingly positive feedback made Fire Safety Event 2026 Lorient’s most successful exhibition to date.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited the stand, attended our seminars and took part in the discussions.
